Position Title Automotive Technology Lecture/Lab
Position Summary

Automotive Technology part-time, temporary, adjunct position is responsible for providing theoretical and technical instruction to students in both classroom lecture and experiential lab settings in AUT 211 – Automotive Emissions and Driveability Course for the fall 2017 semester (Wednesdays 9:00am-12:00pm 8/30/2017 thru 12/13/2017). Teaching and performing student assessment and assessment of teaching effectiveness is required for this position. Experience working with automotive dealerships and experience as an automotive technician required, preferably with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and/or Subaru of America.
Experience teaching current automotive technologies required as hired individual will teach both lecture and lab. Candidate must have experience in teaching generic automotive courses, and possess extensive hand-on experience in performing advanced automobile driveability diagnosis and fault repair. Experience in teaching Mopar CAP preferred.
Experience as instructor in higher education setting preferred. Experience with Online modalities and instruction in Blackboard preferred. Bachelor’s degree required;

Required Qualifications

• Ensures OSHA requirements and safety regulations are meticulously met.
• Teaches Classroom lecture-style instruction, (includes using technology such as; automated presentations, computer generated slides, videos, college online interface)
• Hands-on lab instruction and supervision.
• Availability to teach Wednesdays 9:00am-12:00pm (8/30/2017 thru 12/13/2017)
• Assessment of student progress and success, to include classroom assessment of individual students and course/program assessment
• Ability to have final course grades calculated and submitted by the semester deadline
• Maintenance of the training vehicles and equipment utilized by students for the class being taught.
• Advise students and mentor students through individual and group interactions and office hours.
• Maintain current ASE certifications and other professional certifications and training as the AUT program requires. These may change as articulation agreements with automobile manufacturers may change and develop.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum of five years as a full-time automotive technician required. Experience with FCA and/or Subaru products preferred.
• Currently has specialized industry and training certificates: ASE Certification in ASE A8 and L1.
• Some experience as instructor in automotive technical skills required. Experience as instructor in higher education setting preferred.
• Experience in teaching Mopar CAP preferred.
• Training certification in FCA and/or Subaru (Through level 2 preferred)
• Valid driver’s license.
