Position Title Adjunct Faculty - MOA Certificate
Position Summary


The Certificate of Proficiency in Medical Office Assistant is a thirty (30) credit program of study that prepares students for careers in small and large group medical practices as administrative assistants, billers, coders, customer service representatives, data entry specialists, and patient care representatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the MOA Program Coordinator, execute the course(s) (syllabus, teaching, etc.) assigned at the James Kerney and/or West Windsor campuses.


- Demonstrate superior communication and patience toward colleagues (especially those with English as a Second Language).
- Demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics of professions in medical office and healthcare administration.

Required Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Ability to teach or learn how to teach ICD-10 coding and Medisoft usage to students.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bilingual proficiency in a foreign language (preferably Spanish).
- Background in the following areas: medical insurance and billing, procedures law and ethics for medical office, medical coding procedures, medical transcription, medical terminology, electronic health/medical records.
- Certifications from health professional agencies and associations such as AAPC, AHIMA, etc.
